Warren Buffett

He is the ultimate investment Guru. Warren Buffett was born to Howard Buffett, a stock broker cum Congress Man in 1930. He showed his business acumen and financial genius right as a kid. He purchased Coca Cola bottles and sold them for a profit. Thus when other children were playing hopscotch and jacks, he was into business even from his childhood days.

He bought his first shares when he was 11 years old and sold them for a profit. Cities Service Preferred, the stock he sold shot up after that. This gave him his first lesson in investing, Patience.

He started his career selling newspapers. Ironically Harvard Business School rejected him an admission as he was too young. But that was Columbia’s gain. At Columbia he met investors Ben Graham and David Dodd who trained him in investing to change his life forever. In 1965 he took control of Berkshire Hathaway and developed it to become a huge success.

Today his fortune is estimated at $42 billion. He is 75 years old.
